Married with Magic #2
My Rating:
⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is the second book to the Married to Magic Series. Another story from the world of Midscape.
This time, it is about the world of the fae. Where there is a fight for the crown and to defeat evil.

This story started out as a retelling of Cinderella. Katria is forced to work for her stepmother and stepsister around her home when her father passes away years ago.
Then one day, her stepmother married her off to a mysterious Lord Fenwood whom she cannot lay eyes on. All exchanged for coins and a book that was Katria’s last possession from her late mother.
When Katria arrived at Lord Fenwood’s manor, unusual things happened that she could not explain. Screams and strange attacks from unexplainable creatures.
One night, she heard noises, and a strange ritual was happening that she wasn’t supposed to see. Mysterious creatures dancing around a fire and chanting. Right as one person was about to throw her mother’s book into the fire. Katria leapt into it to save the book. With that action, she absorbed the last Aviness king. The magic that was supposed to be for the heir to the Fae Throne.
Because of that one moment, set a line of events that has her racing for her life, unwanted magic and for love.
Now, I love this book in terms of enemies to lovers and it has action events that have you on the edge of your seat. There felt like an actual reason why someone would despise the other person.
A Dance with a Fae Prince is a book that has plenty of action and it kept me on the edge of my seat. It was a nice change from the previous book. Katria wasn’t sitting around letting danger happen, she fought back.
Some issues I may have been the pacing of the story. There are moments in the book that felt a little long winded and a little too much dialogue. When I was reading this, it felt like the story was drawn out. Also, twice this happened, it seems weird that someone sacrificed for the other person to live. Very big pivotal moment in the plot of the story. Then there was a long-drawn-out scene where they were talking to other people (not talking about what just happened), went on like nothing really happened and went to bed. There was even a lute music battle. Okay.
This was still a great book to the series, and I cannot wait to read the next one, A Duel with the Vampire Lord. It is a bigger book than the rest of the series. So, I am hoping it is not as long winded as the second one. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to reading it.
This series is available on Kindle Unlimited, so I highly recommend this series.
