Consortium Rebellion #1
My Rating:

Dipping my toes into more sci-fi, I decided to pick up what they considered this as a space opera.
The best way to describe Polaris Rising is like a rom com but with laser guns and spaceships.
Polaris Rising even has the sharing of one bed trope, forced proximities, enemies to lovers!! Ah the works of a cheesy rom com dressed as a sci fi. What I call entertainment.

So, I donāt think it is necessarily a bad book. You have this heroine named Ada who is 100% confident and unnaturally good at everything she does. Then you have a super convict named Marcus Loch who is broody, sexy and also gets captured constantly. Well, they both do but Aida is better at saving him than he is saving her.Ā
There is not a lot of explanation why this world is set up the way it is. So, it can leave you to wonder why Ada is being used to end a potential war. So, the story line is not super deep. In all honesty, it is about romance and being in space.
Sure, this is super cheesy, the ending got sort of slow, and I wished the author didnāt come to a crashing halt on the action. Not sure if I will continue the series but it wasnāt too bad.
